Let the bird spotting begin

We are delighted to announce that Ridge and Valley Conservancy’s team the “Ridge and Valley Wrenegades” will be competing in the 41st Annual World Series of Birding. Our award winning team has participated in the fundraiser since 2020 in an effort to raise awareness about the dwindling habitats of our friends in flight.

PROTECTING HABITATS

Ridge and Valley Conservancy’s preserves provide dire sanctuary to native and migratory birds. According to data from the New Jersey Audubon Society, the breeding bird population in the Americas has declined by 3 billion (3,000,000,000) birds (or by 29%) since 1970. With build out and climate change everchanging their placement, we need your support to continue our efforts to provide natural habitats.

What is the World Series of Birding?

The World Series of Birding is an annual event created by the New Jersey Audubon Society in 1984. Bird watching teams, including our R&V Wrenegades, will spend 24 hours scouting every species of bird possible. The team who can identify the most amount of birds will win the World Series of Birding.

How do I participate?

To support the R&V Wrenegades, you can pledge per species spotted or give a flat donation. Your monetary pledge will help Ridge and Valley Conservancy to continue preserving and protecting wild lands in Northwestern New Jersey.
