The merger between The Land Conservancy of New Jersey and Ridge and Valley Conservancy unites two trusted land conservation leaders into a stronger, more resilient preservation force. By combining decades of success and strong local roots, we will amplify our regional impact by accelerating our work and ensuring every donor dollar raised goes further to protect critical habitats, clean water, and local farmland forever.
Left: Millbrook Seeps Preserve reflects the many years RVC and TLC have worked side by side to protect land in northwest NJ. Our official merger builds on that partnership.

Why are The Land Conservancy of New Jersey and Ridge and Valley Conservancy merging?
By bringing together The Land Conservancy of New Jersey’s (TLC) land preservation infrastructure and Ridge and Valley Conservancy’s (RVC) deep local roots, we can protect more land across northwestern New Jersey faster and more effectively than ever before.
Will RVC’s name and logo still be used?
We are deeply committed to honoring RVC’s 30-year conservation legacy as we transition to our new unified identity.
The Name: The Ridge and Valley Conservancy name will continue as TLC’s Ridge and Valley Region, expanding TLC’s focus beyond campaign-specific names like "Bobcat Alley" to encompass the full landscape, connected wildlife corridors, and local communities across Warren and Sussex counties.
The Logo: In the coming months, you will see the TLC and RVC logos side-by-side on joint updates and announcements. Over the next two years, we will transition to a special RVC Legacy Badge alongside the TLC logo on local preserve kiosks, regional project updates, and website pages.
The Legacy: The Legacy Badge serves as a permanent symbol of gratitude for RVC’s founding vision and a promise of our continued care for these local lands.

No. Local conservation needs remain our top priority. The Ridge and Valley Region team will continue identifying and pursuing local projects, now backed by enhanced technical and financial resources, including many new land preservation projects envisioned under our Next 30,000 Acres plan.
What happens to RVC’s hunting program?
RVC’s hunting access program will continue as planned. Permit structures and preserve access guidelines will be maintained, with clear updates provided to participants ahead of upcoming seasons.
