Ridge and Valley Conservancy Seeks Renewal of National Land Trust Accreditation
The Land Trust Accreditation Program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. Ridge and Valley Conservancy is pleased to announce that it is applying for renewal of its accreditation, and a public comment period is now open.
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts a comprehensive review of each applicant’s policies, practices, and programs.
"Accreditation reflects Ridge and Valley Conservancy’s commitment to protecting the lands and natural resources that make our region special. It demonstrates that we meet nationally recognized standards for conservation, stewardship, and organizational excellence, providing assurance to our community that conserved lands will continue to receive the care and protection they deserve," says Susi Tilley, Executive Director.
The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments regarding pending applications. Comments must relate to how Ridge and Valley Conservancy complies with national quality standards. These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. A complete list of the standards is available at http://www.landtrustaccreditation.org/help-and-resources/indicator-elements.
