Cedar Ridge Preserve

Stillwater
131 Acres

unique features

A distinct feature of Cedar Ridge Preserve is the dramatic limestone cliffs that plunge throughout the parcel. The outcrops swaddled in moss welcome visitors to the preserve and follow them up through the main trail. A vast array of native ferns and wildflowers cluster throughout the land.

Visitors will encounter an assortment of conifers in the dense forest, including eastern hemlock, white pine, red cedar, and Norway spruce. Deciduous trees include a variety of oak trees, with additional varieties including dogwood, white ash, hop hornbeam, and red maple.

Evidence of animals include white-tailed deer, black bears, beavers, and northern gray squirrels. Cedar Ridge Preserve is a critical addition to protecting species in the habitat corridor known as “Bobcat Alley.” NJDEP Ecosystems to Protect Map indicates the preserve contains lands deemed Medium to High Priority protection required. NJ Community Green Space maps show the property in Priority Protection zones.
